How to pick a TV character
Television characters change over many seasons, which makes them more interesting to play with than film characters. A character in season one can be very different from the same person in the finale, so the best approach is to pick one stage of the character and answer every question with that stage in mind.
Ensemble shows are especially fun. Ask yourself whether your character is the lead or a supporting figure, whether the show is a comedy or a drama, and whether the setting is realistic or fantastical. Those three answers narrow the field a lot, and they are the same kinds of questions the Genie asks.
